Calcium hardness should be maintained between 175–225 PPM. Ahh-some Watercare Hardness Control helps manage these levels for consistent water conditions. When calcium hardness is too low, metal components may experience increased wear, and cleaning can become more challenging. When levels are too high, scale can form on surfaces and inside heater pipes and other circulating parts, which may also contribute to surface discoloration.

I’ve got super soft water with a total home softening system. While by-passing the softener when filling the tub completely, adding water to keep the tub at optimum level requires a little help to harden. This seems to work well in achieving the level of hardness needed.
